This is an incredible book written by the world’s best known Hypnotherapist – Paul McKenna PhD together with renowned Psychotherapist – Hugh Willbourn. The book really is a joint effort, both writers not only share their own personal experience of heartbreak but also the techniques they’ve developed, in the course of their work on themselves and with others, to overcome and move on from the pain and misery that loss can cause.
Throughout the book you will:
- Learn to stop jealousy and obsessive thoughts
- Feel calm and re-establish emotional equilibrium
- Change bad habits and eliminate destructive psychological patterns
- Develop your emotional intelligence
- Find out why a relationship didn’t work
- Regain self-confidence and open the door to new love
(The above list is taken straight off the back cover. Having read the book, and loved it, I can confirm the content)!
The book contains 16 different techniques to guide you through the process of recovery, some will feel appropriate and some not so but I can guarantee that as long as you are committed to recovery you will find something in here to help you on your journey. The techniques are:
- Re-framing perspectives
- Re-imagining your ex
- How to fall out of love
- Tapping your inner healing (Though Field Therapy)*
- Alternative future
- Finding the positive intention
- The threshold technique
- Setting limits
- Calm anchor technique
- Watch the video
- White it out
- Return it to sender
- Re-imprinting
- Self-esteem booster
- The eyes of love
- The friendly mirror
The book is really good value for money as it includes a 23-minute Mind Programming CD. It is fascinating to listen to because at certain stages both guys are talking at the same time I know it was Paul’s voice that I was drawn to, I wonder which one of them will appeal most to you? It is a very warm feeling having two very seductive male voices encouraging you to heal – I might need hypnosis to break myself from the habit of listening to them ☺
